Many of you have had the privilege and pleasure of visiting this, one of the last few remaining true wilderness areas in the world. And if you’ve stayed at Sarah and husband, Milo’s tented camp, well, you could say you’ve experienced an authentic African safari. Authentic is a word bandied about loosely these days, but in this instance, the newly named John’s Camp offers it in barrow loads. Sarah has safari pedigree in her blood. And it shows. Being the daughter of John and Nicci Stevens, she can’t help it, but she and Milo’s camp, recently invested in by Robin Pope Safaris, is undoubtedly one of the finest semi-permanent establishments you’ll come across in safari territory. Comfortable, unpretentious, simple… focused on the experience and as warmly hosted as you’d expect from the family, John’s Camp needs to be on your must-do list. South Africa is increasing in popularity as a safari destination of note and the currently weak South African Rand makes it a desirable destination for international travellers. But this hugely diverse and incredibly beautiful country has so much to offer. Not least of which is Cape Town and the surrounding winelands, an offering of culture, gourmet, beach, history, art, music, wine, glamour and active adventure all rolled into one. Take a look at this recent itinerary we put together for a good combination of all of the above plus stunning safari. Add on an extension to the incredible Victoria Falls, one of the seven wonders of the world and you have a well-rounded and wonderful adventure ahead.

Give back while enjoying incredible experiences! It’s the way the world is going with travel and we have some wonderful ideas lined up, which introduce you, for instance, to extraordinary community projects, inspiring conservation action and deeply interesting cultural insights that help conserve prehistoric art. Please talk to us if you want to meet the elephants that Zambezi Elephant Fund helps to protect, or if you want to see the work that conservation and community can achieve, or if you would like to delve deep into past cultures and help their preservation…

As if there weren’t enough reasons to visit three wonderful African destinations in one, Kenya Airways has introduced a new direct flight from Nairobi, Kenya to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and then on to Cape Town, South Africa. Imagine a safari that includes iconic safari country, Kenya – here’s where you explore the length and breadth of the Maasai Mara, and then on to Africa’s adventure capital and one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls, (have you seen how much there is to do here?) and to top it all, Cape Town, sigh, where you can ease into luxury and sip on the continent’s finest wines… we think there are not many better combinations!

Coming on safari will be one of the greatest experiences of your life. Do it right – with the purpose you want – and you will have milestone memories that will last a lifetime. These are the journeys that are an investment, not just in life’s exquisite playing out, but in what really matters. An African safari may only happen once in your lifetime – so make sure that when you do it, you do it good and proper!
